II takes a comprehensive and systematic approach to its research subjects in order to set the direction of Incheon Metropolitan City’s medium- and long-term policies.
II offers short- and medium-term alternative policies on municipal administration, at the request of Incheon Metropolitan City and basic local governments, public corporations, etc.
II selects and conducts research projects at its discretion, considering Incheon’s pending issues and future policy needs, as well as conducting projects on various topics which can be conducted in a collaborative manner.
II conducts research on issues requiring urgent responses and analyzes them to offer alternative options. Research findings are provided in the form of short reports.
II conducts commissioned research on specific projects requiring extensive investigation and research, such as statutory planning.
II has successfully engaged in joint research and academic exchange programs with other research institutes both domestically and overseas. The Institute endeavors to disseminate and distribute its research outcomes by publishing research reports as well as by organizing policy forums.
II publishes the academic journal “IDI Urban Research” and the monthly publication “Incheon Economic Trends” as well as the Urban Humanities Research Series, and operates the “Korea-China Database.” The Institute also publishes various webzines such as the “Korea-China Zine,” the “Incheon Institute Newsletter” and “Infographics.”
